Video: Phosphorescent, "It's Hard to be Humble (When You're From Alabama)"

Somewhere between Pride and Here's to Taking it Easy, Phosphorescent/Matthew Houck turned into a pretty legit rock star. We're not just saying it because "It's Hard to be Humble When You're From Alabama" sounds like Bruce Springsteen when he got sure of himself, we're also saying that because you can see it in the way he carries himself throughout this video. Motorcycles, swaggering around New York, aviators...it feels like a million years ago that we saw dude performing to a barely packed audience in a house in Ridgewood. But that's kinda the point of this whole video: the passage of time from boy to man to rock band as shot by Natalie Johns of Dig for Fire.
