It kind of feels like a lot of people forgot that Contra came out this year. Or forgot until the recent album art legal scuffle popped up and put Vampire Weekend back in the news for a few weeks. Which is unfortunate, because, litigation aside, it’s a pretty good album. XL labelmates Basement Jaxx seem to agree with us and have gifted Columbia’s Finest with a remix of the next single off of Contra, “White Sky”. Presumably, the version on the single won’t include the alarmingly thorough introduction and occasional interjections given on this radio rip by BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac. For better or worse.
