Thanks to two stellar albums in 2009’s Embrace and this May’s Fever, fans have grown accustomed to Sleepy Sun dropping tracks like “Marina”: behemoths of rock that, over the course of more than six minutes, wind from epic stoner rock to docile vocal interludes before dropping into some serious west coast psychedelia. What excites us most about the upcoming release of their “Marina” 10-inch is previously unreleased B-side “Horses”, a tight little package that finds singer Bret Constantino getting loose over some of the most traditional rock riffs we’ve seen yet from the San Francisco sextet. The "Marina" 10-inch should be available September 4th when they jet back from Europe to play All Tomorrow’s Parties – and the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn two days later – but you can cop an exclusive listen here.
