This Week in Subtlety: Cee-Lo and 50 Cent Spell Out Their Feelings

August 23, 2010

In case the basic meaning of Cee-Lo Green's new track "Fuck You" is unclear, he hired a typographer and a video editor to ensure you catch the gist of his furious feelings. And those are: his ex-girl dumped Cee-Lo because is poor (really?), his ex-girl is a gold-digger (zeitgeist), his ex-girl ran through his savings and is dating a new dude who's pushing a Ferrari. Rough steez, but in the style of old Stax and Motown tracks, he sounds extremely cheerful about being jilted—the "fuck you" as catharsis, a slap-happy sentiment to alleviate some of the pressure. And if anyone on earth gets off on spewing tirades, it's 50 Cent, a misanthropist with a long history of joyously squashing whomever he can with his bottomless pit of money—including playing the dicky new boyfriend on Cee-Lo's own track. You should play the Lotto and try to get rich quick, ouch. 50's freestyle after the jump. (via Nah Right)
