The usual blog cop-out—even for us—when it comes to Salem videos or any imagery associated with Salem is to say: IT'S SCARY, and then leave it at that. And yeah, part of the reason is that there isn't much to grab onto and analyze with stuff like this video for "Asia" The contrast is all fucked up, the image quality is degrading and there's some blurry nudity. What else is left? But what's great about Salem is the way they make it unclear if this is real or found footage or something shot fresh just for this video. Where is it coming from? Doesn't matter. As long as we don't know and can't tell, it all gets folded into Salem's weird dark world.
