The original of "Heatbeat" is basically breathless, skeletal garage. Terri Walker, UK R&B staple, is less powerful than usual, as T. Williams' beat is more shuffling than running, so we get an almost downtempo, vaporous track. You control my heartbea ea ea t, sounding like the privilege it is. Slackk's remix, not on the 12-inch, which the label, Local Action, aptly describes fairly accurately as "rumbling Slackk-style grime-house" is narrated by a heavy tin drum.
