Stream: Olof Dreijer of The Knife's Darwin Like Variation on Different Vocal Expression and Styles Mix

What's awesome about this is, despite the title's claim to exploration, it's four songs by legendary goth diva Diamanda Galas and then one by composer Meredith Monk, you know, to mix up the darkness with something light and airy. Just kidding it's more goth diva vibes! Olof Dreijer (who also records solo as the excellent Oni Ayhun) knows what he likes—don't hold it against him. To celebrate the release of The Knife's new single "Seeds," he cooked up this small tribute to The Knife's (and his partner in The Knife/sister's project Fever Ray) clear foremothers. Knife tangential partner Planningtorock also made a mix which is half Monk. Definitely some serious black velvet curtain and Ouija boarding going down in Sweden. Stream both below and see track lists after the jump. (via Dummy)
