One of our frequent pastimes these days, now that every new song is most likely someone’s first and last, is to go back to some of our favorite band’s first releases and think about what life would’ve been like if we’d never heard from them again. Happy Mondays’ first few albums are still some of the best to listen to when the weather is as “total shite” like it is in New York right now, but “Delightful” came before all that, on their Forty Five EP on Factory in 1985. It’s definitely a bit more focused and less drugged than subsequent classics, but don’t let that discourage you. Baby stumbles.

Love Happy Mondays. Also love Kav who played guitar for them in their recent lineup, (I think- around the time they came to Coachella a few years ago) & is now living in LA & playing out a lot with his band. If you like this kinda British vibe, you should definitely check his stuff out, although it’s a little bit more garage/rock…
