Store Report: Alternative Apparel Stays Down to Earth

April 26, 2011

Alternative Apparel is known for their everyday clothing as much as their new wave, neo-hippie ideology, and the opening of their first store in Venice reflects that. Their use of low-impact dyes, rayon created from plant cellulose, and "eco-fleece" are so ambitious that they're enough for even the most spirited environmentalists. Housed in a refurbished Craftsman style house on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, additional good vibes come from Gurkees sandals, Good Society Denim, Sword+Fern Jewelry, and outdoor landscaping inspired by the Highline of NYC. Praise Mother Gaia.
