Alright, alright, so maybe paisley shirts and polka dot shorts aren’t exactly “tough guy,” but there’s something brutally cool about the way Vanishing Elephant puts together a look. Back in FADER #70, the Australian brand told us that their turn-of-the-century suiting and weathered denim were inspired by their country’s history of criminal culture. This season, though, it seems like the ’50s rebel is more their muse, sleeves rolled tight up the arm and pegged pants cinched at the waist with a rope belt.
