Beyonce Runs the Billboard Awards, Crowned Role Model of the Millenium

May 23, 2011

At last night's Billboard Music Awards, Beyonce was awarded Billboard's Millennium Award. Before performing a high octane rendition of "Run The World (Girls)," she was congratulated by a parade of legends. Of the group—that included Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Stevie Wonder, her parents, sister Solange and nephew Daniel Juelz Smith—Michelle Obama, Bono, Lady Gaga and Barbara Streisand got the most applause. Short of breath after commanding the stage and a CGI army, Beyonce walked through the audience and accepted the award from her mother Tina. Bey thanked DC sisters Kelly and Michelle, and notably, original Destiny's Child members LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. Having regained composure, she let out her first full, post-show smile while saying, "I love me some Jay-Z," calling Sean her "best friend," and apologizing for putting a camera in his face during a moment all-her-own.
