There was a little controversy about Rihanna’s latest video, some folks were upset and worried about the rights of men in the face of Rihanna’s gun-slinging. Dancehall has a great history of cross-gender answer songs, and Wayne Marshall’s version of “Man Down” is a reminder that there are two sides to every story. He mostly takes the role of victim, imagining Ri Ri stuck in a jail cell and his life hanging on by a thread.
