Interview: Trae Tha Truth

Even in normal daylight, Trae’s eyes stay in the shade, always cloaked in the perpetual darkness that fills his grittiest music. He's quick to smile, though, happily flashing his grill about his kids, about another Trae Day (July 22nd, as proclaimed by the City of Houston) and about his fabled steady diet of Benihana's. This was a rare New York appearance for Trae, stopping by the office the day after his first headlining show in the city, where he was backed by about a hundred rappers. But his new album feels like a big occasion, and we're glad he made the trip. Here's wishing Street King many million record sales. In stores July 12th.
