When Zone 4 princess Keri Hilson graced the cover of FADER #51, she was working as a songwriter, earning her keep crafting futurist computer love jams for Timbaland, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Ciara. Three years later, she’s got her own steely, successful pop career, with two solo albums in the can. We caught up with Miss Keri on a break from Lil Wayne’s I Am Still Music Tour. She talked about why she’s comfortable playing both behind-the-scenes magician and out-in-front freak, staying fit on the road and her homesickness for Southern hustle/hospitality.
