Every week, Amber Bravo chooses one thing to totally obsess over on eBay. This week she tackles vintage Bang & Olufsen.

It's hard to remember the time before Bang & Olufsen got weird. Mainly because I'm too young to remember anything but those wonky, phallic phones, which is a shame because a lot of their audio equipment from the early ’80s is actually really nice looking and very high quality. My friend, an industrial designer who is also not old enough to actually remember when Bang & Olufsen was cool, got all nerdy explaining the ins and outs of why their turntables are especially nice—particularly the Beogram RX model—calling out the "beautifully machined metal and injection plastic (like Apple, but years before)" and "the curved arm being a single piece of aluminum, which is so nerdy and cool."* There are a bunch on eBay, and they are NICE. Kinda like if Deiter Rams were really into collecting vinyl.
