New York Fashion Week started with a jolt of prep peppiness from Steven Alan. He's old reliable at this point, offering up the collection of gingham dresses, soft denim skirts and perfect men's shirting that we've come to expect from Alan. But that doesn't make it boring: the sunshine yellows and grass greens were a much needed moment of cheeriness on an otherwise gray and rainy day.
