Although Dream Love is based out of Tallahassee, in 2011, "We Got A Tan" feels like it should come from New York in 1978. This is about as minimal as a rock song gets, to the point that we actually had to have an inter-office discussion (it only lasted for like 20 seconds, but still) over WHAT THIS SONG MEANS TO THE FUTURE OF MUSIC. The answer to that question is that it means whatever it means. Maybe it'll prompt a revitalization of ultra bare bones ESG fanatics, or maybe it'll just drift in the background. Whatever the case, this song is uneasy and jittery and aggressively awkward in the best way possible. Dream Love's debut Dream Love is out October 25th on Twosyllable Records. If you're in New York, he's playing two shows tonight.
