Video: Sacred Animals and Owensie, “Cat and Mouse”

November 04, 2011

So this is a sad one. Dublin's Sacred Animals have collaborated with fellow Irelander Owensie, born Michael Owens, on "Cat and Mouse," a haunting track about last year's Serykh family Red Road deaths in Scotland. Owens explains:

'Cat And Mouse' was written about a Russian family who fell to their death in a housing estate in Glasgow. An apparent suicide from high in an old tower block used to house asylum seekers, it is thought they may have jumped for fear of deportation by immigration authorities. The father was also known to have suffered from mental problems. After the family were removed, a vigil was held by other local asylum seekers and many came forward with similar accounts of jumping from buildings in fear of deportation.

Their fittingly moving video was directed, shot and edited by Brendan Canty of Feel Good Lost. You can download the track for free via Delphi.
