Bleached are great at that old punk trick—perfected by The Shangri-Las and J. Frank Wilson—of using horror movie imagery and cheap recording equipment to make excruciating death seem like the most romantic thing on the planet. The Clavin sisters latest song is sung from the seat of an electric chair, and we can't help but imagine them, even as the voltage is turned all the way up with their blonde hair standing up straight like the bride of Frankenstein, being so in love with their baby that they can't stop coo-cooing to him even when they're dead.
