Brooklyn Bound: Future Live at Converse Rubber Tracks

There’s a great American tradition of New York being a welcoming port and FADER teamed up with Converse’s new Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn to further it. Once a month, we’ll be welcoming touring artists to the neighborhood with a visit to a local Brooklyn institution, as well as making time for an intimate performance. Catch that exclusive show, interview and MP3s right here.

For his FADER #77 cover story, Future brought us to St. Louis to watch him perform for some of his most diehard fans, “The Lou” being the very first market to play his music on radio, well before “Racks” took over the airwaves nationwide. In downtown hotspot Club Amnesia, he performed from a VIP balcony for close to an hour, lording over the crowd like like some kind of emperor addressing his subjects. This past Wednesday at Converse’s Rubber Tracks Studio, Future was much closer to the people and a bit shorter on time as he ran through the bulk of his hits by chorus only, giving the less initiated a chance to feel just as comfortable singing the only words they knew, as they were the only words available. Watch Future’s performance above and sing (and wriggle) at your desk to let your coworkers/parents/housecat know that you’ve been down from the jump. Stay tuned for an interview with our cover star and an exclusive download from his performance coming soon.
