Brooklyn Bound: Future Interview at Mishka

December 14, 2011

There’s a great American tradition of New York being a welcoming port and FADER teamed up with Converse’s new Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn to further it. Once a month, we’ll be welcoming touring artists to the neighborhood with a visit to a local Brooklyn institution, as well as making time for an intimate performance. Catch that exclusive show, interview and MP3s right here.

Mishka’s retail space has a number of weird decorative figures splitting shelf space with this season's tees, button downs and outerwear. The knick knacks (and full sized Street Fighter II arcade console) are indicative of the varied inspirations the brand has drawn from to become one of the most original and exciting streetwear brands still doing it. Atlanta rising superstar Future’s appearance for this interview was his first visit to the store, which he described as "in the cut." The 350 Broadway Brooklyn storefront is indeed off the rapper's beaten fashion path of 5th Ave and SoHo, but ever more valuable to someone whose clothing line, Free Bandz Apparel, is currently in development. At Mishka, owner Greg Rivera talked about the brand's origins while Future soaked up game and spilled swag all over the shop. Check back shortly for an exclusive MP3 from Future's Rubber Tracks performance!
