Stream: Four Tet, “Moma”

December 16, 2011

On the heels of his Live at the South Bank collaboration with Mats Gustafsson and the late Steve Reid, as featured in FADER #77, fan of working together, Four Tet, is preparing to release "Moma," a song recorded for the Blonde Redhead-curated We Are the Works in Progress compilation. The comp features an astounding roster of Fever Ray, Terry Riley, Broadcast, Liars, Deerhunter, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Interpol, among others, and proceeds will "support Japan and it's ongoing efforts to heal post-tsunami." In the spirit of good deeds and contemplation, "Moma" patters along calm and patient. Tts delicate, cycling synths roll like a mossy waterwheel and its percussive glitches dribble like grandma's faucet. We Are the Works in Progress comes out January 10th via Blonde Redhead's new Asa Wa Kuru label (preorder here).
