Last week we premiered the lead single from Boldy James‘ new record, Consignment. This weekend, the rapper released the final from last year’s Trapper’s Alley, Pro’s and Cons: The Quikcrete Mixtape. The video combines two tracks— “Long Run” is an impressive song produced by Chuck Inglish. But “Optional,” with a discomforting beat from little-known producer Brains, stands out as one of the tape’s most significant songs, thanks to some of Boldy’s evocative lyrics: Left my gun at the crib, got my heart skippin/ It feel like one of my body parts missin.
