Chicago producer Mister Lies offers a turbid vision of space, all the stars suspended in the sky like silt in water, the particles of stardust floating towards us in stilted, beat-driven hiccups. “False Astronomy” samples Joni Mitchell’s “This Flight Tonight” to the effect that her piercing soprano is also made a bit hazy, like it’s coming out of a blown headphone speaker and stuffed under a downy pillow.
