If you’re at all curious about how we’ll be dressing in the coming year, Highland’s autumn lookbook is a little crib sheet into everything we want in our closets throughout next fall. We are gagging on those mohair plaids and hefty boiled wools. The pants, which Highland designer Lizzie Owens calls the “baggy chino,” look like the best fit, cuffed at the shoe in the perfect way. It’s reminding us that grunge wasn’t just some cheesy fashion statement but that it actually liberated the body, layers and layers of loose silhouettes and slouchy fits that put comfort and ease over other considerations. Remember how good Jordan Catalano looked in clothing eight times too big for him? We endorse that, and we definitely endorse Highland. These styles will be available in store at Opening Ceremony later this year.
