One of the driving forces in street rap is the continual rejection of artifice. It’s an ever-evolving dance to capture, however fleetingly, a novel way of portraying REAL LIFE in its most visceral forms. Trel spells this out in “Tired of Being Broke,” making a swipe at the lack of believable cigarette smoking for dramatic effect during a bank heist. But it’s the details, and the performance from Moe and Trel, that makes this feel like fresh territory.
