Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka, “Back 2 The Basics” (Prod. by Mike WiLL) MP3

March 23, 2012

"Back 2 The Basics" and its chandelier-tickling synth have been holed up since Gucci Mane's Trap Back sessions earlier this year. Like the best moments of Trap Back, and as the song's title implies, "Back 2 The Basics" harks back to a less perplexing and more affecting time for the 1017 boys, before the ice cream cone and V-Nasty. It's Gucci and Waka Flocka mean mugging in the studio, the beat helmed by veritable Atlanta super-producer and longtime collaborator Mike WiLL. The track is the first single from WiLL's forthcoming Est. In 1989 Pt. 2 mixtape. The first volume featured his productions for Future, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, 2 Chainz, Lil Boosie and Schoolboy Q, so the bar's set tall as BoA Plaza. The tapes are named in honor of WiLL's birth year, and, speaking of which, today Mike WiLL turns 23 :). Wish him well.
