On Tuesday evening, the first edition of Step Into The Black, a music series presented by Captain Morgan Black Spiced Rum and FADER, hit Phoenix with a rad set by Minneapolis psych-R&B darlings Polica. As night fell and the blistering Arizona day cooled off, partygoers hung out at the rooftop bar sipping on Captain Morgan Black Spiced Rum with honey and the crowd favorite, Captain Morgan Black with ginger. DJ M2 spun some jams while guests nibbled on complimentary Southwestern snacks or unleashed their inner Captain at the rooftop photo booth. Even Polica got into the spirit, posing with pirate-themed wigs and props. It was the band's second visit to the desert city, so they chatted with fans before a performing for over an hour. Channy Leaneagh's soulful vocals and the dynamic shredding of two drum kits delighted the audience, and when the show was over and thirsts had been quenched, guests were gifted with tote bags courtesy of Captain Morgan and FADER. We'll be visiting cities all over the US with shows and cocktails from now until July—sign up for our mailing list to find out when Step Into The Black rolls though a city near you.
