Our Favorite Looks from the Met Ball

Every May, Anna Wintour rounds up the biggest celebrities in the world for the annual Met Ball, a gala in honor of New York's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute. It's like the Oscars for fashion, and since it's Vogue-sponsored, there's no shortage of amazing dresses to gawk at. But as we did last year, we like to sift through the high fashion and A-list actresses to zero in on the ladies and gentlemen that matter most in our universe, the folks who bring a little weirdness and personal style to an event that has plenty of beautiful, if less interesting, Grecian column dresses and frou frou tulle. First up, pictured above, are Beyonce and Kanye West, who both wore Givenchy and looked like the groom and bride on top of the wedding cake at a very, very cool wedding.

Rihanna in Tom Ford, Lana Del Ray in Joseph Altuzarra.

David Byrne in Adam Kimmel, MIA in Stella McCartney.

LaLa in Zac Posen, Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu.

Florence Welch in Alexander McQueen, Joan Smalls in Balmain.

Miuccia Prada in Prada, Donatella Versace in Versace.

Giovanna Battaglia in Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel Iman in Tom Ford.

Marina Abramovic in Givenchy and James Franco in Gucci, Anja Rubik in Anthony Vaccarello.
