Stream: Bonnie “Prince” Billy & Matt Sweeney “Storms” (Fleetwood Mac Cover)

July 11, 2012

There's a whole slew of new Fleetwood Mac covers floating around the internet thanks to a new tribute compilation Just Tell Me That You Want Me. The title (a nod to "Tusk") seems appropriate enough given the compilation's all-star list of contributors (see tracklisting below), but for me, Stevie Nicks' "Storms" has always been the dazzler on Tusk. Unsurprising that Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Matt Sweeney chose to cover it; "Storms"' closing line seems writ from Oldham's own heart: But never have I been a blue calm sea/ I have always been a storm. Just Tell Me That You Want Me will be out August 14th on Hear Music/Concord.
