Brooklyn Bound: El-P Live at Converse Rubber Tracks

July 30, 2012

There’s a great American tradition of New York being a welcoming port and FADER teamed up with Converse’s new Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn to further it. Once a month, we’ll be welcoming touring artists to the neighborhood with a visit to a local Brooklyn institution, as well as making time for an intimate performance. Catch that exclusive show, interview and MP3s right here.

Since its May release, El-P’s Cancer For Cure has spent spring and summer collecting critical accolades like fireflies in a mason jar. He'd set the bar high enough with 2007's I'll Sleep When You're Dead, but has again managed to reinforce his own mythology with one of the year's most complete albums. And then if handling a gang of production duties for Killer Mike and Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire weren't enough to keep him on your radar, watching him perform songs from Cancer For Cure live at Converse Rubber Tracks should be plenty proof of El-P's lingering vitality. Check him out doing "The Full Retard" and "Drones Over Bklyn" below, and stay tuned for an interview and exclusive download from the performance later this week.
