Spotted at the Olympics: Djibouti’s Face Jewelry

The London Olympics kicked off Friday night with 4 1/2 hours of weirdness: an opening ceremony that included dancing nurses, Dumbledore and the Sex Pistols. We see you, Danny Boyle. Our favorite part of the entire event though was watching the parade of flag bearers from each participating country and getting a first glimpse of the spectrum of uniforms from around the world. A woman from Djibouti stole the show with her jewelry game, sporting a gold mesh veil. The look was straight out of a lavish Muslim wedding or Riccardo Tisci's now infamous Givenchy couture collection.
