J.W. Anderson’s Spooky Collection for Topshop

September 17, 2012

We've been excited for fall's arrival for many reasons, but one of them is an ability to buy one of our favorite British designers J.W Anderson on the cheap as he releases his first of two collections for Topshop. He says the collection is "based on the premise of a supermarket," and by that we think he means the annual halloween aisle: the avant-gardist uses the season's best motifs, like Halloween deep oranges, lots of black, two spooky green cat eyes and an imprint of a bat, to make wearable, mass-market versions of his wild ideas. A T-shirt printed with an image of the back of a goth kids head and those blood red loafers are standouts, and he also reproduced some of his mega-coveted paisley prints from his main collection. Anderson's designs will be in store at Topshop today.
