As if Total Loss wasn't enough, Tom Krell, BKA How To Dress Well has a bonus 7-inch with a cover of Robbie Basho's "Blue Crystal Fire" on it. It's a gorgeous cover that hints at a possible future direction for Krell's music—with delicate guitar and Krell's voice approaching Antony levels of fragility. Like much of the earlier How To Dress Well material, the cover feels less fully formed than anything on Total Loss, instead working as a song sketch that never quite coheres. That's not a knock though, Krell knows how to construct songs with their architecture in full view, and this is a great example of that.
