Stream: Cop City/Chill Pillars, “Cleaning The Pool”

Cop City/Chill Pillars are a mysterious four-piece who make very demented-sounding, elemental post-punk out of West Palm Beach, Florida. "Cleaning The Pool," a track from their second full-length, pushes their counterintuitive melodic sense and deadpan delivery to new levels of strangeness with the addition of a freewheeling saxophone. As far as what sort of suburban acid trip we can expect to embark on when we give this record a spin, the chorus— I love the carpet-flavored lollypop in the second hand candy shop —pretty much says it all. Hosed it out on Halloween via the ominous-sounding imprint Floridas Dying.
