Every week a different FADER staff member will pick a clothing item or accessory that he or she has lately been spending a lot of time with—or would like to—and write a little love letter to it. We would’ve done a column on who we’re dating but that seemed a little bit much. This week Maia talks about Erica Weiner's Wrong Angle Necklace

While growing up and endlessly searching for my truest self, I wore a ton of jewelry. I had a large collection of necklaces and I would pick at least three or four to wear every day. I remember the Pisces pendant choker fondly, as well as the silver hammer on a black leather chord and the piece of moonstone on a blue chain (which is still pretty cool, actually). In my early high school days, I applied to work as a hostess at a fancy restaurant. I was sort of about to get the job until they informed I would have to take out my nose ring and only wear one necklace at a time. Although I declined the job back then because I didn't want to change the awesome look I was working so hard to achieve, I have since learned a very valuable lesson for my self of today, which is that one necklace will do just fine.

Following my new less-is-more necklace philosophy, I wanted to add Erica Weiner's Wrong Angle Necklace to my much smaller necklace collection because I knew it could say everything I wanted it to without the help of a few other necklaces. The simplicity and versatility of this necklace spoke to me, and the description online says the shiny "V" is really fun to play with so I was excited about that, too. I like how the chain is long enough to slip over my head so I can avoid the twist-to-open closure altogether if I feel like it. All in all, this Wrong Angle Necklace is pretty right for me now. P.S. I also no longer have a nose ring.
