Lorely Rodriguez, the sole force behind Empress Of, strips all the electronic whatnot off “Don’t Tell Me,” the pleading and fuzzy B-side from her fine debut single, “Champagne,” out now via No Recordings. In Brooklyn with just a mic and a piano, she sounds fantastic. The video was filmed by the masters of eliciting brilliantly stripped-down live versions, Yours Truly.
