Last Christmas, The FADER sent Jace Clayton down to St. Katherine, Jamaica to watch Sun Araw and his friend M. Geddes Gengras lay down some tunes with legendary reggae band The Congos. Icon Give Thank, the album they recorded together, was touching proof that sometimes musical chemistry does defy geographical borders, while Icon Eye , a documentary directed by Tony Lowe and Sam Fleischner, did a good job capturing the dual awkwardness and humanity of the encounter. This week, Sun Araw and Gengras announced that they'll be heading up a Stones Throw imprint called Duppy Gun Productions next year, dedicated to "OUTER ORBIT DANCEHALL SELECTIONS feat. bugg'd RIDDIMS and vocal fire from THE ISLAND." To celebrate, RVNG Intl. just dropped this free live EP of a concert they performed with The Congos this year at the Village Underground in London, along with a mysterious fourth entity called the Raw Power Band. Let's just say that if you're stressing about all the work you have to get done before the holidays, this one's a pick-me-up.
