If you're making music that could ostensibly be called garage rock, it kinda feels like there's a ceiling, and that ceiling keeps the tempo steady, the genre quick and dirty, and smuggles in heavy emotions under call-and-response choruses and a general, bouncy vibe. Bleached’s "Next Stop" fits that mold, right down to the on-the-low heaviness next stop, I'm waiting for the train/ next stop, smoking in the rain/ next stop, kissing you goodbye/ next stop, tears in your eyes—bummer moments of loss and sadness, rendered compact and brief. It's a formula that's worked before, and it works here, too.
