Trent Reznor’s How to destroy angels_, who are very particular about which letters they like capitalizing and which letters they do not, released a poignantly gloomy EP called An omen_ on Columbia last year. Coinciding with the announcement that they’ve got a new full-length, Welcome oblivion, in the works for March 5th, they’ve group-directed this grainy clip for “the loop closes,” which wrangles a bunch of pretty disparate sounds (piano, trumpet, computer glitches) into a slinky groove, only to take a turn for the explosive when the actual voices come in.
