Stream: Blanche Blanche Blanche, "Rich Man"

Blanche Blanche Blanche is the Brattleboro, VT duo of Sarah Smith and Zach Philips. They put out four albums in 2012 alone, and their music hits an alluring sweet spot between proggy ambition and rough-hewn production. Still, when they put a little more effort into making things sound crisp and clear—such as on "Rich Man," a track from their forthcoming Wooden Ball LP—their off-kilter, almost deliberately over-wrought melodies clean up pretty nicely, even if the uber-digital soundbank they're using sounds just as proudly amateurish as the Casios they were using before. Wooden Ball drops March 5th via NNA Tapes.
