Sacred Bones has two heady missives from the Santiago, Chile, underground coming out on January 22nd. The first, as previously reported, is a new album from The Holydrug Couple, a two-man band who use homerecording methods to make the sort of balmy, off-kilter psych-rock that wouldn't sound at all out of place on a Love, Peace & Poetry comp. In a krautier vein, the label just dropped this seven-minute burner from Föllakzoid, an improv-centric quartet that includes a filmmaker, a photographer, an architect and one of the producers of the city's Sangre Fresca Music Festival. Enigmatically, they describe their bluesy guitar tendrils and Can-type polyrhythms as the "product of a trance experience between friends, sort of a soul abduction in which they’ve been living since 2008.” Pre-order II from the label, and catch Föllakzoid at one of the North American tourdates below, where they'll be jamming in support of Psychic Ills.
