Walter Van Beirendonck’s Glittery Ode to David Bowie

January 17, 2013

Belgain menswear wizard Walter Van Beirendonck basically got into fashion because of a childhood love for David Bowie's glam-rock androgyny, so it's no surprise that a few blazers in his new collection are riffs on the famous shimmering red lightning bolt painted on Bowie's forehead on the cover of Alladin Sane. The rest of the clothes aren't as literal, but Van Beirendonck twists the idea of glamrock into a whole range of glittery options, including some intergalactic headgear that we hope is a nod to "Space Oddity."
