The music of Container sits in that nebulous grey area between straight-up techno and noise music that has beats. There’s a wonkiness and grit to Ren Schofield’s sound palette that may be a little too scuzzy for your average dance music junkie, but unlike many underground knob-turners who’ve been crossing over into techno of late, he does lo-fi with a surprising amount of nuance. “Saturation” is a track from his forthcoming Treatment 12-inch, and it crunches with the whiplash intensity that the Providence-via-Nashville musician does best. Look out for the record next month on Morphine Records.
