Major Lazer's second album, Free The Universe, has been pushed back several times; the album was originally due out on November 6th of last year, and later promised for this past Tuesday, February 19th. The production collective, whose current players include Diplo, Ariel Rechtshaid, Dre Skull, Walshy Fire and Jillionaire, addressed the delay today on Facebook, writing:
We never want to disappoint our supporters but circumstances out of our control have made us unable to keep the intended date. For anyone disappointed, we are truly apologetic and we promise that this hiccup has only made what we have planned for the album stronger. We tried extremely hard to keep the date but it was ultimately decided that rushing the album would have been unfair to you and everyone who worked so hard on it.
Major Lazer will release a single from the LP, "Watch Out for This (Bumaye)" next Tuesday, offering the track for free download to anyone who preorders Free The Universe through iTunes. They'll also release three bundles of free music leading up to the album's release. Download the first of those, featuring remixes of previous singles "Jah No Partial" and "Get Free" as well as a Major Lazer remix of Hot Chip, below.
