As though their recent Top Ten Hits of the End of the World weren’t colorful and imaginative enough, Prince Rama is now spinning those songs into the soundtrack for an original film, directed by Astral Projects‘ Lily X. Wahrman. To judge from this trailer, the film looks to be full of the campiest costumes and makeup and jewelry this side of The Cremaster Cycle. Appropriately, the band is calling Never Forever a rock opera, and while details about the plot have yet to be revealed, they did provide us with a description of the title concept that will make you scratch your head for a sec: “Never Forever never was, never could be, forever will be. When it happened, none of us realized it. When it was over, we became it. A motorcycle crashed into heaven’s gate. A slurpee was purchased off hell’s highway. We peeled back the “missing person” sticker and found ourselves. The rest is just rock n roll.” Prince Rama is debuting an expanded line-up in Europe next month featuring Christopher Burke on bass and Michael Collins on synths. Dates below.
