YG f. ASAP Ferg, "Click Clack"

photographer Maia Stern

Cross coast rap collaborations are always difficult because if the participants carry any of the definitive traits of their home turf, one is likely to have trouble adapting to the other side's production choice. Compton mascot YG and Harlem's ASAP Ferg manage to avoid such problems on "Click Clack" by rapping over a hybrid of the ratchet and trillwave sounds they've long mastered and dare we say, furthered, respectively. "Click Clack is from DJ Drama's upcoming Mr. Sold Out pt. 25 mixtape (parts 1-24 presumably also coming sometime before) and may or may not be on YG's upcoming album, I'm From Bompton.
