Here's The Weeknd's second video from upcoming LP Kiss Land, which, according to some retailers, may drop August 27th. The eight-minute clip was directed by Anthony Mandler, and the track, "Belong to the World," samples Portishead's "Machine Gun." As Pitchfork points out, Portishead instrumentalist Geoff Barrow isn't totally psyched about that. Barrow says "Machine Gun" was sampled without permission: "I think it's a load of bollox. when someone asks to sample you and you refuse they should have the respect as a fellow artist to not use it...Feels like I'm being used to promote the track now... I'll shut up now," he wrote on Twitter.
