Stream: Dream Boys, "Born Yesterday"

With the release of their self-titled debut in September, Los Angeles' Dream Boys will join the club of contemporary guitar bands currently revisiting the beaming, youthful melancholy of power-pop's past, like Weird Dreams and The Twerps. On lead single "Born Yesterday," the bleary-eyed lyrics about sunsets and loneliness don't feel nearly as important as the the overall vibe that emerges as the warm, crystalline guitars swirl around each other. It's not a distinctly West Coast sound, but it makes sense that it comes from a place where summer never truly ends. Dream Boys is out September 17th via Art Fag.
