Brooklyn’s annual, all-ages AFROPUNK FEST is just a month away, taking place August 24-25 in Fort Greene’s Commodore Barry Park. Some of the artists on the bill—and more will be announced as the weekend approaches—include Chuck D and DJ Lord, who’ll be performing Fear of a Black Planet, Questlove, Trash Talk, Danny Brown, Saul Williams, Theophilus London, The Coup, Mykki Blanco, K-OS, Big Freedia, Rye Rye, LE1F and Jean Grae. Plus there’ll be a veritable pileup of food trucks, a market featuring local visual artists, a skatepark and a bike show with a chance to win a custom Harley. Admission is free if you RSVP, or better yet, you can support the festival and shortcut the lines with a donation.

Update 8/21/13: The lineup has been gotten a last-week boost with the addition of Living Colour, Pyyramids and Wicked Wisdom, fronted by Jada Pinkett Smith.

Stream: Public Enemy, “Fear of a Black Planet”
